The layout is set in the summer of 1961. Edison Court was a station on the Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad situated in the town of Waukegan roughly halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee.  This was an ‘Interurban’ railway with cars powered with trolley poles, but could reach speeds of up to 85mph. Sadly, the line was closed in January 1963.

 

Nearly everything has had to be scratchbuilt using maps and photos of the time where possible. The freight house and some building fronts are 3D printed. As none are available, the passenger cars and freight locos are also 3D printed and powered using Tomytec chassis’.
